What happens if an employee is sick or hurt while traveling for business purposes?

The cancellation and curtailment section of BF&M's business travel insurance provides coverage for lost deposits and non-refundable fees for transportation and accommodation if the trip is cancelled or cut short because an insured employee, their travel partner/companion, or family member becomes sick, is quarantined, is injured, or dies.

If an employee is injured or killed while traveling for business, they are entitled to the benefits mandated by the Workers’ Compensation Act, for example, lost wages or death benefits to his or her estate. Purchasing workers’ compensation insurance will protect your business from these unforeseen costs.
