What businesses are legally required to have Workers' Compensation insurance in Bermuda?

Legally, all businesses based in Bermuda (outside of the Naval Military, Air Forces, persons in the civil employment of the government and persons in the employment of the Government of the United States Forces) are liable in the event of a workplace accident as based on the Workers' Compensation Act of 1965. While no business is obligated to have workers compensation insurance, any business without coverage is open to legal repercussion if an employee is injured while at work.

In our opinion, every business should have workers compensation insurance as all business carry some risk of injury. Different businesses though will require varying degrees of coverage, based on the potential for accidents in the workplace. And because we offer customized plans to your needs, we work with you to ensure your business is appropriately covered.
